System follows whatever your operating system is set to, and switches the moment it does.
Accent colour
Recolours buttons, links, progress rings and charts across the site.
Density
Compact tightens every control, row and card by about a tenth — useful on a laptop screen.
Text size
Scales every measurement on the site, not just the type, so layouts stay in proportion.
A binary search halves the interval each step, so the loop runs in O(log n). State the invariant before you write the loop — lo and hi always bracket the answer.
Playback
How lectures behave in the classroom. Brute Info marks a lecture viewed after a short on-screen timer rather than streaming video.
Playback speed
This also scales the classroom timer: the five-second “View lecture” countdown is divided by your speed.
Autoplay the next lecture
Queues the following lecture as soon as one is marked viewed. You always get a few seconds to cancel.
Mark lectures viewed automatically
Ticks the lecture off when the timer finishes. Turn this off to tick each one yourself.
Captions
Shows the lecture transcript line by line under the stage.
A hash map trades memory for time — average O(1) lookups.

The time your study nudge is timed for. Delivery by email needs the notification service.
Difficulty preference
Decides which practice problems Brute Info puts in front of you first inside each module.
Reset all learning progress
Clears every viewed tick, streak and certificate. Your enrolments and orders stay.
Notifications
Choose what reaches you and how. Every switch is independent — turning off email never turns off the in-app copy.

Accessibility

Reduce motion
Removes transitions, parallax and the progress-ring sweep everywhere, even if your device is set to allow motion.
High contrast
Thickens borders, darkens muted text and underlines links in body copy across the site.
Always underline links
Adds an underline to every link in body copy, so colour is never the only signal.
Keyboard shortcuts
Single-key shortcuts in the classroom. Turn this off if a screen reader or voice tool needs those keys.
